Coaching Network
England Athletics is pleased to announce details of our Spring 2013 Consultation Events.
We would encourage as many clubs as possible to send representatives to these events. Whether you believe your views, experiences or ideas are likely to be very similar or very different to those of other clubs we want to hear what they are. We want to hear what you have to say so please get involved and make your voice heard.
Following on from what was raised at the events we held in 2012 and the online submissions we received we want to focus these consultations on two subjects:
· Affiliation – including pricing and processes
· Governance – including how we work to ensure democratic processes for England Athletics work effectively
While these two areas are the focus for the series of events we will
also be looking to identify other subjects that club’s believe should form
part of our focus for future consultation.
These events will be very important for us as we seek to gain insights and ideas from clubs, as well as having the opportunity to hear the views of clubs on the important issues that we will be discussing together. They will help us to shape our policies and approaches as we move forwards.

Coach Development Day
Please see the information below and on the attachments about a Athletics Leaders course
Most clubs will have seen an increase in membership particularly from 9-13 age group following the olympics and most will have limited coaching capacity to deal with this influx of interest. This is an opportunity for clubs to grow their pool of coaching / helpers / volunteers resourse.
This Athletic Leader course is suitable for anyone who helps out (or who might want to or be encouraged to help out) at coaching and training nights at local clubs. Those working with junior sections aged 9-13 will find this of particular benifet.
This is an ideal opportunity to approach parents to get involved. Schools may also want to think about getting staff or sports leaders on to this course.
There is no exam or assessment. Candidates do not need any previous athletics experience. Minimum age is 16.
On completion of the course Athletic Leaders will be able to work with qualified coaches and be covered by UKA insurance.
Can you please share this with as many people as possible by sending on the email and by printing off the flyer and posting it on to club notice boards and club websites.
Applications should be made direct to Tina Beresford at England Athletics
