School’s Cross Country League Winter 2019
We invite all Schools within the County to send teams or individuals to the Cross Country League meetings to be held during the Autumn term. We hope that as many schools or individuals who are interested will come along to these meetings. Medals are awarded to the winning individuals and teams. Schools or individuals must compete in all three meetings in order to qualify for the awards.
Make a note in your school sports diary of the following:
SATURDAY 5th OCTOBER
SATURDAY 23rd NOVEMBER
SATURDAY 7th DECEMBER
All meetings will be held at Sherwood Pines Country Park, Kings Clipstone, Nottingham, NG21 9JL with the first race starting at 10.00am. If anyone is able to help set up the course from 8am onwards please let me know. There will be a discounted charge for car parking for which you can obtain a code at the registration marquee – note Sherwood Pines operate a pay on exit system based on vehicle recognition.
Due to the terrain of the course (path, woodland trail and grass), athletes are advised to bring both trainers and spikes (for those that have them) and walk the course to see which they feel is most appropriate.
Age groups for both boys and girls will be:
Years 5/6. Year 7. Years 8/9. Years 10/11.
There will be a charge of £40 per secondary school and £30 per Primary. School Districts will also cover some of the costs. The three meetings will consist of a maximum of 8 athletes per team per age group but a cost of £2 per race is required for any individual.

NOTE that in 2020 the County Schools Championships will be held at Wollaton Park, Nottingham on Saturday 1st February. English Schools Cross Country is to be held at Sefton Park, Liverpool on 14th March 2020.
Lastly the AGM of the Nottinghamshire Schools Athletics Association is to be held at Minster School, Southwell. NG25 0LG on Wednesday 13th November 2019 at 4.30pm. All schools are invited to send a representative.
