Notts Fell Championships 2019

Race 1 Wolf’s Pit March 17th

Well done to everyone that took part in muddy conditions on the race field and four seasons worth of weather on the hill!

The full race results can be found at: https://www.racetek-live.co.uk/website/public_results/834/complete_results/

The Notts results are in the accompanying spreadsheet. Please get in touch with me if there are any corrections that need to be made: [email protected]

Please note that points are given for position in the Notts Championships for the open category ie overall regardless of age so that the winner gets 1 point, 2nd 2 points etc., and similarly for the age groups – so a runner could get 12 points for finishing 12th overall and 1 point for finishing first in the V55-64 category. The full rules for the championships are on the Notts AAA website.

Best two lowest scores from the 3 races in the open and age category races count towards championship medals. Please also note, that runners aged under 35 only compete in the open category and it is possible to finish in the first 3 in the under 35 but be denied a medal by overall higher placed older age category runners.

The second race is Chrome Hill Saturday 29th June and the final individual race and the team championship race is Longshaw Sheepdog Trials on Saturday 31st August.

Thanks all for a great start to the Nottinghamshire Fell Championship Series 2019.

NOTTS FELL CHAMPS WOLF’S PIT RACE

SUNDAY MARCH 17TH IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The race field is waterlogged DO NOT GO TO THE FIELD TO PARK OR PARK IN THE VILLAGE ITSELF TO RESPECT THE VILLAGERS REQUEST THAT WE DON’T, AND PLEASE TRY TO SHARE TRANSPORT TO THE RACE.

As you arrive at Shatton where the race is held there’s usually race marshalls directing parking which has previously been at the garden centre. Please arrive early as it could be a bit of a walk and the organiser says this could be up to half an hour to get to race registration, and this has a long queue most years. Once registered for the race go to the Notts Fell Champs race table with your number to fill a form in, and that’s it - no extra cost and kit check will be part of the overall random kit check for the race.

The Wolf’s Pit race website no longer seems to be functioning but there appears to be a Facebook page and which may have further information there and links to printing a race map off.

BRING FULL FRA KIT REQUIREMENT INCLUDING MAP - RACING WITHOUT FULL KIT WILL DISQUALIFY YOU FROM THE RACE, THE NOTTS FELL CHAMPS AND COULD LEAD TO AN FRA RACE BAN!

We’ve always had a good turnout for this great race so looking forward to seeing you all Sunday.

Thanks, Dicky Wilkinson
